This is Yushu, Qinghai – known as the "Water Tower of China." On this high-altitude plateau, a practice in municipal solid waste reduction and circular utilization is rapidly taking shape.
Recently, the low-value municipal solid waste sorting project in Yushu, Gansu, undertaken by Qinglv Environment, is about to complete its equipment installation and commissioning, entering the final phase of project delivery. Covering approximately 2,000 square meters, the project is designed to process 20,000 tons of low-value municipal solid waste annually. Once operational, it is expected to achieve a 30% reduction in municipal solid waste, further enhancing the local level of solid waste resource utilization and injecting new environmental momentum into the green and sustainable development of the plateau region.

Yushu is located in a vital ecological area of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where snow-capped mountains, grasslands, and rivers form a unique and precious natural environment. For a long time, the vast territory, challenging transportation conditions, and complex waste composition have made waste management in plateau regions particularly demanding. Balancing waste reduction, resource recovery, and long-term operation while protecting the ecological baseline has become a critical issue in the region's green development journey.

To address the specific pain points of the project and its environment, Qinglv Environment has deployed its integrated low-value mixed municipal solid waste resource recovery solution. Leveraging self-developed sorting equipment and core processes including pre-treatment, 3D sorter, and AI-powered intelligent sorting, the system efficiently separates multiple resource-recoverable materials from municipal solid waste – such as plastics, metals, films, and textiles – thereby improving resource utilization efficiency and reducing end-of-pipe disposal pressure.

As the Yushu project approaches completion and commissioning, a green link connecting "waste management – resource recovery – ecological protection" is taking shape on the plateau.
