The moment you throw away that bag of garbage, its fate is already sealed – either to be incinerated or landfilled. But this default option is gradually being rewritten. Turning household waste into resources has already taken root in the land of Jingchu (Hubei Province).

Qinglv Plants Its Foot in Central China at the Start of the 15th Five‑Year Plan

Recently, the mixed municipal solid waste (MSW) intelligent sorting project undertaken by Qinglv Environment in Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, Hubei Province, has entered the on‑site installation phase and will soon be ready for trial operation. Covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters with a daily processing capacity of 100 tons, this project represents another important step for Qinglv Environment in the field of ecological governance in central and western county‑level regions.

This timing is no coincidence. The national 15th Five‑Year Plan explicitly requires that the resource utilization rate of urban household waste reach 70%. Hubei Province has also introduced plans to promote full coverage of county‑level waste classification. Under this policy window, the upgrade demand from “mere treatment” to “resource recovery” is emerging simultaneously in hundreds of county‑level markets across the country.

Efficient and Intelligent Sorting Maximizes Resource Recovery

The project adopts a process route of “pre‑treatment + 3D sorting + AI intelligent sorting”. After bag breaking and screening by a 3D sorter, metals, copper‑aluminum products, and other materials are recovered through magnetic separators and eddy current separators. Recyclables such as plastics and paper are accurately identified and automatically sorted by AI optical sorters and intelligent sorting robots. Lightweight mixed fractions can be further processed into RDF or SRF alternative fuels.

Compared with traditional sorting methods, this project greatly improves sorting efficiency and resource recovery rates while effectively reducing operating costs. It achieves an investment cost approximately 40% lower than the industry average, a payback period about 30% faster, and resource recovery revenue roughly 15% higher. This provides a more economical and replicable solution for county‑level household waste resource recovery.

In addition, the production line is specially equipped with a dust control module – enclosed covers wrap the entire sorting line to block waste and odor leakage at the source, and discharge trays catch scattered materials during belt transfer to prevent secondary contamination. This not only protects the surrounding environment but also safeguards frontline workers, making the entire sorting center cleaner and safer while operating efficiently.

Invitation to Build a New County‑Level Solid Waste Resource Ecosystem

The Wufeng project is an important practice of Qinglv Environment’s mission to promote the harmless treatment, volume reduction, and resource recovery of mixed low‑value household waste. As a global provider of intelligent solid waste sorting solutions, Qinglv Environment, relying on its self‑developed intelligent sorting equipment and rich project operation experience, has built a full‑industry‑chain service capability covering project planning, equipment manufacturing, engineering construction, and operation management.

Notably, as policies on waste resource recovery and circular economy continue to deepen, the county‑level household waste resource market is entering a rapid growth phase. Household waste is no longer just a disposal burden – it is becoming a sustainably developable “urban resource mine”. Unlocking the resource value through intelligent sorting not only reduces end‑of‑pipe disposal pressure but also generates long‑term, stable economic returns.

Unlike traditional equipment suppliers, Qinglv prefers to be a long‑term partner in projects, offering full‑chain services from process design and complete line delivery to joint investment and co‑operation. Whether it is a city investment platform seeking asset‑light operation or private capital looking to enter the solid waste sector, Qinglv welcomes in‑depth cooperation – to build together, invest together, and win together.
